The story begins with Robin Hood being pursued by Prince John's right-hand man, the Sheriff of Notthingham with a trap with real gold on a wagon and Jerry being chased by Tom, the spy for the greedy Prince John.
Although Tom is a spy for King Richard the Lionheart's evil brother, he does have a soft spot for Robin Hood's love interest, the lovely Maid Marian as he plays a song for her. During the archery tournament planned by the Sheriff and John with promises of golf, the title of the best archer of the land and a kiss from Maid Marian (as a plan to trap Robin), Robin Hood manages to land three bullseye in a row, with the help from Jerry, giving him the win. However, he is stripped of his disguise and, along with his Merry Men, apprehended by the Sheriff of Nottingham and taken to the dungeon.
Jerry quickly races to the castle to rescue Robin Hood and fights Tom in Maid Marian's room who is writing Robin a letter. After the fiasco, Tom manages to lure and trap Jerry inside his mouth via prop door. However, the mouse escapes using the cat's uvula as a slingshot and busts through the teeth. The cat and mouse duo fall through the window during the fight when the Sherrif enters the room since as the default winner, he wants the kiss from Maid Marian. He also finds out that she is a spy when he grabs the note from her, offering to spare her terrible fate if she agrees to marry him. She refuses, and addresses him as "Sherrif of Nothingham," saying she would rather Be finished off by an executioner axe than be his wife. The Sherrif decides that that could be arranged and storms off, instructing the wolf guards to make sure finish her off if she tried toe escape
Meanwhile, a reformed Tom and Jerry team up to save Robin Hood and his Merry Men from execution as they swipe the key from the guards. However, their task goes awry as the mace lands on top of Tom's tail, causing him to yelp in pain and accidentally swallow the key, so Jerry reluctantly walks inside the cat's mouth and then jumps straight down the esophagus and into the stomach in order to retrieve it and goes right back up into the mouth, walking right out with the key in tow. Tom and Jerry free Robin Hood and his Merry Men, who make their escape.
They also go to save King Richard from the evil Sheriff of Nottingham and Prince John and they are successful in doing that. And in the end, King Richard returns to his kingdom, and Robin Hood and Maid Marian get married. Robin's Merry Men also recognize Tom also as one of them.
